Bust 'em all!!

Rules are preferable, but if you tend to break it, then go for it, rules are meant to be broken. There are certain so-called style rules that you can break. We dress ourselves every single day. While trends are constantly evolving and changing, women still subscribe to certain myths. Myths generally give rise to certain misconceptions. These misconceptions further ruin your style. Restricting what you wear and when you wear it, limits your fashion sense. Real trendsetters never play by rules. Its time to throw out the rulebook.

Here are a few enduring fashion myths that are going to get debunked.

Tall women shouldn't wear high heels
Generally, a woman with good height is asked not to wear high heels as they would make them look taller and intimidating. High heels aren't just about making you look taller. It makes your legs look great, add a little strut to your walk, give you a feminine and bold look, make you feel confident and class up any of your outfits. A common judgment, made on a woman for her height, is associated with un-femininity. A pair of heels is a perfect solution to shut these judgments.

Short women should never wear long dresses
Beautiful things always come in small packages. But often, women with short height are refrained from wearing long dresses. Indeed, certain styles don’t always complement a shorter figure. It's tricky to find pieces and trends that work for your height. But that shouldn't cramp your style. Long dresses may keep you looking short, but it is a sophisticated look. The basic idea is to dress in the best and convincing way to bring out the stylist in you. Pair up your maxi dress with wedge sandals, pull up hair to make your neck look longer, avoid banding above or below your waist, and most importantly, stand straight!

Always match your shoes with your belt or your purse
This is an outdated myth and nobody bothers to adhere to it anymore. We own so many cool outfits and its a worry to find a matching belt or purse to go with each dress. Moreover, you wouldn't forego a lovely dress or an amazing pair of shoes just because you don't have a matching belt. Shoes, belts, and purses are just statement pieces on an outfit. They don't have to match every time. A playful mix of accessories always elevates a look. Try putting a few colors together!

Larger prints work for larger women and smaller prints work for smaller women
Its a season of trendy prints - floral, stripes, gingham, polka, etc. These prints not only add personality to your outfit but they also complement your body structure. But it is a fact that no outfit is defined for a particular body size. Smaller prints won't make you look fat. Being fat makes you look fat. A good print is a good print, whether it is in size 2 or a size 20. You just have to be confident about wearing it.

You get what you pay for

Price is not necessarily an indicator of quality. Companies don't charge you what something is worth; they charge you what they think you're willing to pay. It's on you to know the difference between what's worth your money and what isn't. A product high in price might not be in a quality you are seeking. Likewise, a cheap commodity might last longer than you thought.

Glasses are not sexy
Glasses are no longer considered to be a bad thing. It can be sexy or unsexy as you want them to be. Just like any other accessory, it's all in how you wear them. It has become more of a fashion symbol than a remedy to fix bad eyes.

If you want to create a womanly shape, you have to cinch in your waist
Every woman loves to celebrate her curves through different patterns and styles of clothing. That doesn't say that you have to wear something tight or band your waist-line to highlight your shape. For a plus-size woman, it's a big no-no. Flaunting your curves is not a custom to create a womanly look. Embrace your curves in the best way. Use color blocking and create the illusion of more dramatic curves. Put on the right clothes that compliment your body size.

You need to follow trends to look chic
The trend is a dynamic process. It keeps changing according to time and people. Every evolving trend doesn't need to be followed to discover the fashionista in you. Fashion says to follow the rule you've set for yourself. Don't let anyone dictate how you dress. If you're comfortable and confident, it will reveal your chicness.

Black is always slimming
If you feel bloated and wish to look thinner, you always go for black. Black does have the ability to hide visual interruptions from your body and clothes. But the only rule is that they should fit. Not wearing clothes too tight or too loose will beautify your body more than the color. Play with bright colors. Bright colors grab the eye-balls. Flaunt your most loved feature with a bright-colored accessory. There’s no reason to hide what you have and who you are. Dark Blue is a good option to start with.

You can't mix metals
Mix-matching silver jewelry with gold accessories on one outfit seems bit gaudy and out-of-fashion. But, experimenting with new looks makes up a new trend. Today, mixing and matching are much cooler than going with a monotonous presentation. Mixing prints and mixing metals is new in the fashion market. All-gold-everything looks chic. You just need to accessorize your outfit with the appropriate accomplice.

We are in a time where fashion and style are so limitless that anything we style on develops into an incredible trend. But there's a fine line between fashionable and ridiculous. Keeping that in mind, you can nail any trend and kick out any misconception from breaking your style and spoiling your closet.
